Wonderful intricate folk art model of a brass band in a horse drawn circus wagon

Wonderful intricate folk art model of a brass band in a horse drawn circus wagon. This is a wonderful, intricate folk art model of a brass band in a horse drawn circus wagon, over 4 feet long.

Each figure was separately made from wood and found objects, with sheet metal arms and legs, bottle caps on the horns and wheel hubs, and screw caps with sheet metal brims for hats. The figures were then mounted into the brightly painted wagon labeled "Dunn's Toyland". The horses were cut from plywood, mounted in pairs, with wood, metal and string for harness and red yarn tassels between them. They can be detached from the wagon. We were told this was made by a Frank Dunn of Pontiac, MI.

It is from the first half of the 20th c. With paint that is nicely crazed on parts of the wagon. It is 53" long by 10 1/4" wide by 15 high.

The overall condition is very good, with weathered paint and some age cracks. There is some loss to the plywood bases and feet of the horses, as seen in the photos. This item may be available at a lower price.
