DESCRIPTION: Here measuring 9 1/4 across is this vintage, 1880's I'd say, hand painted FOLK ART wooden plate. The scene depicts (in my estimation) people (or family) being settlers travelling west and they stopped at a Mid-west or Western fort for the night to be safe from Indian attack.
Maybe the children are asleep and adults are getting a bit of relief listening to some fiddle music. Wish I knew more about this.
