Up for sale is an early folk art Calligraphy Drawing Of A Horse. This is a nice early piece of calligraphy styled drawing. Probably dates to the 3rd quarter of the 19th century. This piece has a large area of foxing on the backside/ left side area of horse. Other areas of discoloration present.
Some rips to paper are present. The wood backing should be replaced with a newer one to prevent the spread of wear/damage. The horse has some areas of color. Looks to be an unfinished piece by artist. Signed in bottom left corner.
A great example of an early form of folk art, popular in the 3rd and 4th quarter of the 19th century. Please view pictures for details. Contact me with any questions. The item "Early Folk Art Calligraphy Drawing Of Horse Artist Signed c.
