Large hooked mat featuring a horse and sleigh in snowy winter landscape with a farm house, barn, and church. It is signed with the initial "B" on the lower right, for the artist Aurora Benoit, of Sainte Madeleine de Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec. She made hooked mats from the 1920's to the 1950's.
Meticulous work -- the back (last photo) looks as nice as the front. Almost all of them have been washed / blocked by me. I will mention any flaws I see. My home is smoke free, but I sell estate finds with unknown history.
